Added ARIA Community Forum

While answering emails sent to ARIA we noticed that there were many repeat questions. We also received information about ARIA data we didn't know. Therefore, ARIA forums were created so members of the ARIA community can help each other.

Added new and exposed old data sets

We have added a new data set for the South West Water Research Center and exposed unsorted/unprocessed data sets as requested by ARIA users. The unsorted data sets are not organized, may lack metadata, and may have poorly named folders and files. However, I believe that ARIA users would rather have a mess now than wait for us to organize it at some uncertain future date.

We have enabled Web access to the ARIA file server

We apologize for taking down the ARIA file search application but incomplete metadata and bugs have made it unstable. We are currently working on a replacement application.

Browse Images added

Good news. Today we deployed a new build of ARIA that included functionality for previewing data before it is downloaded. The functionality shows up in the search results and allows the user to toggle between three different sizes of browse images. The browse images are complete for 1:24K DRGs and will be complete soon for DOQQs. Next up are the Landsat imagery and

Since this is an active time of development and we've unleashed a new design featuring a Google Maps mashup interface, it would be nice to hear your comments on the site so far and your suggestions for improvements. 1:24K DRGs added

This morning we added 1:24K DRGs. We are still working on getting the "Preview" functionality working so you can preview the scenes before you download them. We found some missing DOQQs and added those as well. We discovered that most Landsat images are not searchable so will be working on that after we get the preview images working and after the 1:100K and 1:250K DRGs are added.

New ARIA Hardware donated by ISPE

With the help of Miguel and Jay, we were able to move the new ARIA hardware donated by the Institute for the Study of Planet Earth (ISPE) into the old rack.
